的核心问题是描述动物和表达个人喜好,以及句式“Why do you like ..?

Because ...”。 这也是本单元的重点。通过这节课的学习,学生应能较流利的运

用所学词汇和句型描述动物,表达个人喜好。本课出现了许多描述动物的形容

词,所以我为本课设计了一个情感目标,希望学生们都能用上好的描述词语来

描述自己,比如clever smart friendly cute而 大家要远离lazy

 

 

教学目标

By the end of the lesson, students are expected to

Know about the main idea of the passage.

Describe the person in their own words by learning.

Realize the police artist’s importance in a case.

Guide students to use “He/She is a…, He/ She has…., He/ She is...” to give suggestions on describing person.

Let students talk about the person’s appearance correctly and fluently.

Lead in

Free talk: The teacher shows the pictures of criminals. Then let students talk about the criminals’ physical characteristics.

 

To elicit the topic naturally.

 

Pre-reading

Make a prediction :

     The teacher presents the pictures   of criminals and the title of this material—An interesting job.

Through about activities, students will be prepared to read and can understand the material better.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

While-reading

Skimming: Read the passage quickly to check their prediction and conclude the main idea.

Detailed reading:

1. Reread the passage carefully and find out the real criminal.

2. Read the text for the third time and think about what the words in bold refer to.(He, it, him, this job, they, He)

Through about reading activities, students will not only understand the purpose of the passage and details, but also improve their reading ability.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Post-reading

Role play (Pair work): make up a   dialogue on describing person’s appearance.

Discussion: Each group choose a person’s appearance to describe, and then invite other groups to draw on the blackboard according to the description, students can make a guess.

These can help students practice the sentence pattern and open their minds. Students’ interest will be aroused. By group discussion help students use the target language, and students’ critical thinking and autonomous learning ability can be developed.

 

Assignments

1. Retell the passage after class.

2. Write a short essay describing the appearance of someone you know well.
