整体设计思路
本 课 教 学 内 容 选自人教版教材 Unit 9 Section B 的 阅 读 文 本 An interesting job。
本单元的第一课时以听说形式让学生了解并且基本掌握了一些描述人外形的形容词与句型。第二课时中，首先学生通过单词与图片匹配的练习进一步巩固和扩展描述人外形的短语。阅读文章内容，根据所描述的特点，进行归纳，脑中形成基本的人物形象特征，准确匹配所指的人物，然后教师引导学生从文章中更深一步理解描述人物的语言用法以及代词所指的含义。最后小组活动，学生们选择一个自己熟悉的人进行描述，邀请其他同学根据其描述进行简单的绘画。

l Free talk: The teacher shows the pictures of criminals. Then let students talk about the criminals’ physical characteristics.
To elicit the topic naturally.
Pre-reading
l Make a prediction :
The teacher presents the pictures of criminals and the title of this material—An interesting job.
Through about activities, students will be prepared to read and can understand the material better.
While-reading
l Skimming: Read the passage quickly to check their prediction and conclude the main idea.
l Detailed reading:
1. Reread the passage carefully and find out the real criminal.
2. Read the text for the third time and think about what the words in bold refer to.(He, it, him, this job, they, He)
Through about reading activities, students will not only understand the purpose of the passage and details, but also improve their reading ability.
Post-reading
l Role play (Pair work): make up a dialogue on describing person’s appearance.
l Discussion: Each group choose a person’s appearance to describe, and then invite other groups to draw on the blackboard according to the description, students can make a guess.
These can help students practice the sentence pattern and open their minds. Students’ interest will be aroused. By group discussion help students use the target language, and students’ critical thinking and autonomous learning ability can be developed.
Assignments
1. Retell the passage after class.
2. Write a short essay describing the appearance of someone you know well.
