整体设计思路

First, explain the new words of the text to lay the foundation for the rest of the reading.This article is mainly two diaries about travel.The students in grade eight have learned about some famous scenic spots.Some students also have the experience of traveling with their parents.knowledge learned in this reading.First, we start by asking students which scenic spots they have been to.By introducing the topic of Malaysia, introducing some cities, nicknames and regional customs of Malaysia, students will be interested in learning about the world.Finally, go back to the text and discuss what the text says.

1.Ask the students to look  at the picture on Page 1 and make conversations,using sentence pattern:- -Where did you go on vacation?- -I went to the mountains.- -Did you go with anyone?- -Yes, I did./No, I didn't.

Answer the teacher's questions and talk

about .

 

Draw the students' attention and let them know about Malaysia with some pictures.Lay the groundwork for the rest of the reading.

 

 

2.Ask the students if they have been abroad and where they have been. Talk about their impression of Malaysia.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pre-reading

1. Present the picture about Malaysia.

2. Have Students talk about what they have known about Malaysia.

3. Elicit Students to explore something more about him from the reading.

1. Guess the topic of the passage.

2. Brainstorm some facts they’ve known about Malaysia.

These pictures aim to motivate Students’ current knowledge about Malaysia and arouse Students’ interest to explore

While-reading

1st reading:

1. Fast reading ask the students to read the passage as quickly as they can and tell the main idea of the passage.

2. Ask them to check if they have made the right predictions.

 

 

Read fast as soon as possible.Then find the answers to question.Did Jane have a good time on Monday?What about on Tuesday?

 

Let the students have a general understanding of the text.

While-reading

1.2nd reading:Ask students to underline the key words about what happened to Jane, how she was feeling, and why.

 

1. Read and,       underline the facts and circle the time,place,weather,characters and events.

These help Students to have a clear mind of the time line and related events.

3rd reading:

Help students to fill in the form in the correct tense

Fill out the form.

Let the students have a deeper understanding of the article, the logic is more clear.

 

 

 

Post-reading

1. Ask students to complete the form by using the correct tense.

2.  Randomly ask two students to have a role-play

3.Teach some grammar through sentence.
