整体设计思路:

This reading article is about talent. Everyone is good at something. At the begining of this class, T arouse Ss’s attention by talking about some famous people’s talent. Then with several reading tasks, T guide Ss to know more about talent shows, including their commom points and peoples different attitude towards them. By the end of this class, Ss will realize that tatent and hard work are an essential part of success.

 

 

教学目标:

Knowledge aim: Ss can know some basic information about the talent shows and master the usage of key words and phrases.

Ability aim: Ss can improve their reading and speaking ability and learn to talk about the talent shows.

Emotional aim: Ss can communicate with others fluently and work hard to realize their dreams.

 

教学重难点:

1. To master the usage of the new words and phrases.

2. To have a better understanding of the talent shows and improve the reading ability.

T ask Ss do a pair work and then show some pictures about some talent persons and ask Ss if they know these peoples talent.

Show some pictures about talent shows and ask Ss to talk about them.

(1)How much do you know about talent shows?

(2)What do you think of the talent show?

 

 

 

Ss talk about talent show or talent person and share their opinions

Let the Ss know something about the talent show and arouse Ss’ interest to explore what they want to know.

Fast reading:

 

Ask students to read the passage quickly, underline the topic sentence of every paragraph and circle the new words amd phrases.

 

Ss read the passage quickly and do some notes.

 

These can help student to master the main idea of the passage and learn some new words and phrases.

Read the passage again:

Task 2: read the passage for the third time and answer the following questions:     

1. Which three talent shows are mentioned?

2. What does talent shows have in common?

3. Who decides the winner?

4. Why do some people not like these talent shows?

5. Whats the great thing about the talent show?

By finishing these tasks , students can understand the passage deeply and master the knowledge.  

 

 

 

 

Post-reading

1.Divide students into four groups and ask Ss to retell the whole passage, and then invite Ss to share.

Studens discuss in groups and share their retelling.

The form of mind map makes the key points of this paragraph clear.

 

 

Summary

Teacher summrize the passage and discuss a saying “Genius only means hard-working on one's life.”

教学反思:

Ss are interested in talent shows and they like to watch talent shows at home. But it’s more important for them to realize that everyone is good at something and they muat be brave enough to realize their dreams. So T need to design the procedures properly.
