整体设计思路

In this reading lesson, Ss will learn how to make, accept and turn down an invitation politely. Ss in Grade8 have been learning English for several years and still have a strong desire to learn better. At the beginning of this lesson, T takes her participation in the classmate party on the weekend as the topic to lead the class and arouse Ss' interest. Next the teacher brainstormed and asked the Ss to list the kinds of parties they have know. Then with several reading tasks, T will guide Ss to explore the relevant information needed for the invitation and feel the context. In this part, Ss ' expression on the topic of invitation are further consolidated through Task-based Teaching and multi-strategy reading. By the end of this class, T will create a real context, Ss will be able to use appropriate language to send an invitation to the party through group cooperation and presentation.

教学目标

By the end of this class, Ss will be able to:

(1) gasp the main idea of the text and learn some reading strategies.

(2) write an invitation and learn to accept and turn down it.

(3) form the habit of holding parties for various purpose.

1, Guided Ss use reading strategies to complete the corresponding reading questions.

2, Help Ss to gasp how to make, accept and turn down an invitation.

Grouping

Divide Ss into groups of six.

Get ready for class

Prepare for the group work.

Leading in

Introduce the activity that participated in the classmate party on the weekend to lead the topic.

Notice the world "party".

To attract Ss' attention in the lesson and quickly gets into the topic of it.

pre-reading

Ask Ss what kind of parties they know.

Brainstorm some parties they've know.

These aim to motivate Ss's current knowledge about parties and arouse Ss' interest to explore what they want to know.

while-reading

Fast reading: presents the first task to the Ss and ask them to find out the purpose of each message and remind them to scan the passage quickly to complete the task.

Reading the messages quickly and match the purpose with each message.

To train Ss' English skimming ability.

Careful reading: ask the Ss to read each message carefully and finish the task separately in order of e-mail.

Read the message carefully to complete the questions.

To train Ss' reading ability to search for key information.

post-reading

Assign six groups to discuss: ask the Ss to plan a party by supposing their favorite teacher is living.

Ss Work together in groups to discuss 

Ss will have the opportunity to present their answers on stage.

By answer questions, Ss will be able to understand what is needed to make an invitation.

summary

sum up the knowledge of this lesson through mind mapping.

Ss follow the teacher to review this lesson and learn how to make an invitation and how to accept and refuse it.

Achieve the goal of this class by thinking and summarizing.

Homework

Write an invitation based on Ss' discussion.

教学反思

This lesson is complete. In the process of readingthe teacher pays attention to the cultivation of students' reading strategies, and students can actively participate in the class. However,the reading tasks are not diversified enough. T can think of some activities or tasks to further develop students autonomous learning ability.
