整体设计思路

This article is about talent show, a kind of well-known TV show in China.Ss from Grade 8 who have studied English for several years have their own opinions on many things.According this passage Ss will know how to think rightly.At the beginning of the class, T will excite Ss interests to find out what actually the talent show is in the writers opinion. Then with several times reading, T will lead Ss to find out what the talent show is, the reason it becomes so popular and others opinions on talent show.This will improve Ss thinking and judgement abilities.In the end, Ss will learn to how to express their preference and be much more familiar with their classmates.

By the end of this class, Ss will be able to:

1.predict and obtain information about talent show

2.explore the reason why talent show becomes so popular in the world;

3.learn about there are two sides to everything

4.learn how to express their preference

1. Elicit Ss to find out the three talent shows that have been mentioned in the article.

2. Ask Ss to match the three paragraphs

 

1. Underline the three talent shows.

2.Read carefully,  match the three paragraphs

1. Read the five questions to let Ss understand.

2.Ask Ss to answer the questions in group

1. Read carefully with the five questions and find the answers.

Ss have less opportunities to express their own opinions and to speak English.The class is not very energetic and active.
