Teaching procedures
Step 1. Warm- up
Ask students to talk about their meals like this:
S1: I have an egg, a banana and some milk for breakfast. What about you ?
S2: I have two eggs ,an apple and some porridge .
Then ask three pairs to act out their conversations.
Step 2. 2a
T: We eat much food every day, which do you think is healthy and is not?
List the food you eat on the paper, and think about the question.
Then ask students to look at the food in the chart.
Have one student to read the words.
Say,which food do you think is heathy ? Check Yes,Maybe or No.
Discuss in pairs.
Step 3. 2b
Read the instructions to the class.
Ask students to read the magazine and answer the question: What are David and Cindy talking about ?
Several minutes later, invite a student to answer it.
( David is asking the volleyball star,and Cindy Smith about her eating habits.)
Play the recording and ask them to repeat.
Ask students to circle the food words.
Divide students into two groups to role –play the conversation.
Finally,invite some pairs to act out for the whole class.
Step 4.: 2c
Read the instructions to the class.
Ask a student to give an example:Cindy like oranges and apples .
Do this activity individually.
Ask five students to write on the Bb.
Finally,ask them to correct each other.
Step 5. 3a
Ask them to look at the chart in 3a.
Then invite two pairs to practice the conversation:
A: Do you like eggs for breakfast ?
B : No,I don’t. I like oranges .
Ask a student to read the words in the first column .
Have students practice in pairs and complete the survey.
After finishing the survey ,ask students to write about what they and their parents like and don’t like using the structure in 3b.
Step 6. 3b
Read the instructions to the class and ask them to finish it in pairs.
Step 7 . Self Check
1. Ask students to read the instructions of 1.
2. Invite three students to read the words in the box.
3. Tell them to write the plural forms of them and put them in the correct columns.
4. Check the ansers.
5. Say ,think about the food ,sports and colors you and your parents like and dislike, write at least five sentences .
6. Finally, invite several students share their sentences to the class .
Step 8. Summary
In this class, we’ve learnt how to talk about the food ,sports and other things we like and dislike. Please choose healthy food instead of junk food .
Step 9. Homework :Read the conversation in 2b again and again .
