第五课时

Teaching and Learning Goals:

一、功能 

1..能理解有关课程安排的短文,并能获得相关信息。  

2.了解写信的格式。

二、词汇和常用表达: Learn and use the words

useful, fromto, Mrs. finish, lesson, hour, have an art lesson

三、学习策略:Guide the students to master the reading skills.

四、情感态度:学会与他人合作、并且关注他人,正确的与人交流。

五、文化知识Lead the students to learn to write a letter and know more about foreign culture.

Teaching and learning steps

Pre-reading

Step1:Topic review

1. T: Hello! Boys and girls! How many subjects do you know ?

  Ss: Nine

  T:  Good ! What do you think of them?

Show some description words on the screen. Such as: interesting ;fun ;easy; difficult......

S1: I think English is useful.

S2: I think Chinese is fun.  

Ask Ss to talk about all the subjects in groups and fill in the following chart.

Step 2 Warming up and lead-in

T:  Jenny is Yu Mei's pen friend from the U.S.A. Yu Mei writes a letter to Jenny to tell her about her classes on Friday. Now read the letter quickly and find the answer to the main idea of the letter:

While-reading

Step 3 Reading

Task1 .Get Ss to read the letter fast and silently.And then find the answer .

The main idea of the letter is about      

A: The subjects Yu Mei likes

B: The subjects Yu Mei doesn't like

C:Yu Mei's schedule of Friday

After that show the answer:C

 

Task 2. Ss read the letter quickly and find  the answer to the following questions.

(1)What's Yu Mei's favorite subject?

                                                

(2When is lunch?

                                               

(3)When do her classes finish?

                                                

Ask three students to answer them and give them some encouragement. and ask the others to check the answers.

Task 3.Ss read the letter once more carefully and complete Yu Mei's schedule without looking at the letter.

【设计意图】本环节先对信件的书写有一个大概的认识,然后再根据思维导图去复述课文。学生通过任务1的复述,对文章有了更具体的了解,再去完成任务2。最后学生根据这封信去做小组报告。让学生更好的掌握本节课的知识。

Inquiry into knowledge by translation:

1.busy adj.  忙碌的;热闹的     

1)常在句中作表语。

I’m very busy these days.
   近来我很忙。

2)表示“忙于某事”可使用“be busy with + 名词(短语)”结构。

Cindy is busy with her work. 
   辛蒂忙于她的工作。

3)表示“忙于做某事”可使用“be busy doing sth (短语)”结构

Jim is busy. He is playing (正在弹) the piano.(合并为一句)

2. finish v. 完成;结束

(1) 表示“完成某事”可使用“finish sth
