本课教学内容选自人教版英语教材的八年级第八课 时的阅读文本 How do you make a banana milk shake?
本节课以制作香蕉奶昔为话题,主要谈论一些常见的家庭饮食方面的制作方法,通过丰富多彩的口语练习,掌握制作方法的同时,又在语言情境中,对一些动作加以区分和应用。通过基本句子的学习,让学生能够知道如何去询问相关食材的数量。
教学目标
By the end of the lesson, students are expected to
l Ask and answer questions about preparation of ingredients for fruit salad.
l Learn to distinguish different listening skills.
l Use simple expressions to ask the amount of food.
l Distinguish countable nouns from uncountable nouns and use quantifiers to measure some uncountable nouns.
l Master “how much” and “how many” to ask questions about the number of things.

l Guiding students to use “How many … do we need? How much … do we need?” to ask about the amount of ingredients needed to make the food.
l Teach the students some sequential words to describe the process.

Lead in
l Brainstorming: Show the pictures of fruit salad to the students and ask them what ingredients they can use in the process of making fruit salad.
To elicit the topic
Pre-listening
l Learn some new words about the ingredients: honey, yogurt, watermelon, spoon, ingredient, fruit salad.
To help students to carry out special listening training and improve their listening comprehension level in a planned way.
While-listening
l Listen for main idea.
Ask students to listen to the passage but do not look at the questions. Then, ask them to get the main ideal of the passage. Invite students to share their ideas.
l Listen for answers to the exercises/detailed information.
Ask students to listen to the passage again. This time, ask them to try their best to get answers to the questions.
l Publish answers.
Show the students the answers and focus on the part where they did not get the right information. Ask the students if there is anything else they don't understand.
To help students to fill in the blanks according to the listening information, to understand the information and training skills. It can help students to develop the ability to quickly capture key information.
Post-listening
l Role play (Group work): make up conversation on asking the ingredients.
l Discussion: Discuss the process to ask the quantity of the ingredients.
l Pair show (pair work): Students show how they make a food and the ingredients they need.
To test the students’ understanding of the listening material and teamwork ability. To help students practice the sentence pattern and think about the steps to ask about the quantity of ingredients.
Assignments
1. Find more ingredients in making fruit salad.
2. Make some fruit salad for students’ parents and then write the ingredients down.
