整体设计思路

This lesson is about robots' shapes and functions. Through some examples, we can make students be interested in the topic and lead them to read the passage roughly and then carefully. They will learn the possibility of the development of future robots and study some knowledge of future society.

教学目标

By the end of the class, students will be able to:

1. learn how to use future tense and the meaning of sentence pattern “... will ...”. 2.talk about something related to robots. 3.improve the ability of generalization and reading by doing the exercise.  

4. learn the robots' shapes and functions nowadays. 

5. learn how the future robots are like,and what the future robots' functions are.

教学重难点

1.How to enable the students to summarize the characteristics of the robots.

2.How to help the students to imagine the future of the robots.

3.How to make students generalize now and future robots' shapes and functions and make them imagine the robots' future.

Greetings

Greet the whole class as usual and present the teaching aims.

Get ready for class

Let students know what we will study and make them get ready for class.

Leading in

Show photos of Baymax to students and make a brief introduction.

Look back on the memories of Baymax and put themselves into the classroom atmosphere.

To arouse students' interest and resonance about robots by showing them the picture of Baymax.

Pre-reading

Show other photos of robots on the PowerPoint. Ask students what do they look like and what can they do?

 

Think about those questions and answer them.

“Yes.”/”No.”

They look like human beings.”...

 Help with housework, build cars, express delivery... and etc.

Enable students to have curiosity about things related to robots presented in this unit, which can help students get involved into this unit easily and smoothly.

While-reading

1st reading:

Skimming and Scanning

1.Ask students to go through the passage quietly and match each paragraph with the question it discusses on PowerPoint.

2.Ask students to scan the text quickly, and then complete the sentences on PowerPoint about what robots can do now.

Think positively and answer questions actively.

Students' reading ability of getting the general ideas and locating the specific information can be trained and improved by skimming and scanning practice.

2nd reading:

Careful reading

1.Lead students to read and analyze the passage paragraph by paragraph, and finish questions of every paragraph on the PowerPoint.

2.Ask students to read the passages again and the work in groups trying to fill in the blanks in the paragraph with words from the article.

 

 

Read the passage carefully and discuss the questions with their partners, then answer questions.

Help them have a further understanding of the passage.

 

Specific analysis on PowerPoint.

Post-reading

Discuss in groups to image how future robots will develop.

Students work in groups and talk about what the think the future robots will be.

This helps to cultivate students’ imagination about future robots.

Summary

Ask students to make a blank according to the contents in the passage.

Students work in groups and talk about what the passage mainly talks about.

It can cultivate students' ability of summary and generalization by making students to make a blank which includes the main contents of the passage.

教学反思

Boys often get interested in robots, but few girls is interested in robots. So how to design the activities and use what words to make them curious about passage is important. And the more important is to let them look forward to future robots.
