整体设计思路

This reading article is about “free time activity ”, which is closed to the students  and closed to the daily  life,and after learning the passage,Ss from Grade 8 can know the expressions of “free time activities ”and the different life styles.

At the beginning of this class, T will play a game with the Ss,so it can make Ss be more interested for the next learning.

 Then by doing several reading tasks,T guide Ss find the three main activities of “exerciseuse of Internet and watch TV”.By a survey of different activities,lead to the theme of “the motion is the source of all lives ”.

 

 

 

 

教学目标

By the end of this class, Ss will be able to:

1.know how to express the frequency of doing an activity.

2.have a better understanding of the meaning of “percent ”“time ”,and pay attention to its collocation.

3.learn to arrange their sparetime well ,and take a healthy activity,build up a correct view of  life and values.

On the basic of understanding the text,learn to use the collocation of percent and time.

 Play a game with Ss,T will say a sentence,and if it is true for Ss,Ss can stand up and say “that’s me ”

 

1 .Coordinate with the teacher,and say “That’s me ”their group members.

1. Ask Ss to read the article quickly and answer the following questions.

 

 

1. Read carefully, find out the three  activities which have talked about in the passage——Exercise,use of internet,and watch TV

 

This will help Ss know that the passage is talking about free activities of No.5 High school students,including “exercise,use of internet,and watch TV”

Scanning:

Give each paragraph a key words or a headline.

1.Read carefully and match the headlines with the messages already given on the screen.

 

These activities can practice Ss reading ability and have a clear mind of each paragraph's headline.


 

 

 

 

 

 

While-reading

Careful-reading:

Ask students read paragraph.2-5 carefully

 then finish the pie charts and answer the questions.

Read again and ask students try to find the key phrases.Then fill in the blanks.

 

 

Talk about what kind of article of the passage.

And how to write it

 

 

 

1.Read paragraph by paragraph and discuss in groups to finish the pie charts and blanks.

 

 

 

These steps will students have a full understanding of the passage and konw how many students do this activities.

Post-reading

Discuss

Ask students to talk about their opinions with their group members whether the students in No.5 are healthy or not.

  And then gave us a presentation about

what is a healthy life style in their mind.

 

Have a discussion and ask each group  have represent to show in front of the class.

It can practice students speaking English and be more confident when speak in public

 

 

 

 

Summary

Summary what have learned today:

Some reading skills:skimming,scanning,and careful reading.

How to write a report:topic,body and conclusion.

 

This step can consolidate knowledge what have learned tody and strengthen memory.

 

 

 

Homework

Write a report about what your group members’ parents do in their free time,it shoul include topic,body and conclusion.

 

Remember the key words and phrases of this class

Each students interview their parents and then merge with their group members’ results.Then each group  hand in one report.

Ss can use what they have learned in the class .

So,practice makes perfect.

教学反思

It is a reading class,it can develop  reading abilities of students by several reading activities.

And Ss are familiar with the topic of high school students’ free activities. It have a lot in common with themselves,so they can talk more about it.
