Unit 7 Shanghai Is in the Southeast of China

Part A


本单元的教学内容重点围绕方位展开,引导学生逐步学习8个表达方位的单词,并学习描述某个地点所处的地理位置。本单元对于地理知识尚不完善的孩子们来说是个难点,教师在教学中应注意激发学生的学习兴趣,从学生的生活经验出发,充分利用孩子们所处的位置和周围熟悉的环境以及地图等工具在教学中直观地引导学生了解地图方向的标识(上北下南,左西右东)、中国领土的区域划分和名胜古迹等。教师还应在教授语言知识的同时,尽可能带着学生领略一些自然风光和著名的景点,以丰富学生的视野、唤醒学生潜在的学习动力,使之能积极地投入学习,同时进一步了解地理知识。


【知识与能力目标】

了解trdr字母组合在单词的发音,并能运用读音规则读出所给的生词。

【过程与方法目标】

能理解地图的基本标识,并能在情景中运用方位词准确描述地理位置。

【情感态度价值观目标】

一、帮助学生更好地了解祖国,并能注意文明出行、保护环境。

二、引导学生注重合作学习,培养其合作意识。

三、通过本单元的知识,引导学生逐步接触异闻文化和地理知识,拓展视野。


【教学重点】

能听、说、读、写以下单词:

east, west, north, south, northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast

【教学难点】

能听懂、会说、会读、会用下列句型:

Hainan is in the south of China. Its too hot in summer.

How about Shanghai? It’s in the southeast.

It’s by the sea and it is not too hot.

Great. There are many places of interest...

课程导入(Leading In)

(1)课前热身Part A Warming-up: Think and tick

T: What do you think of our city? Is it nice? Why?

结合学生的回答,顺势处理Think and tick部分,进行热身。

T: What do you think ofnice city? Try to discuss in your groups, and then tell us the reasons.

美丽城市评选活动:告诉学生要进行一个美丽城市的评选活动,请他们组内讨论一下评选标准是什么,并且必须要有理由来支撑他们所制定的评选标准。具体条件可以参考Think and tick部分,也可以提出更多的标准,答案并不唯一。这个活动最根本的目的并不是向学生提供标准答案,而是为学生提供了一个开放性的话题,让学生们打开思维,大胆用英语表达内心真实的想法,各抒己见。

(2)新课导入

承接刚才的话题,引导学生对自己所在城市(以西安为例)进行评价。之后,教师用课件呈现中国地图,让学生在地图上找一找自己城市所在的位置。

T: You did a very good job. Our hometown is a very beautiful place. There are many interesting places here. We love it. Now look at the map of China. Can you find our hometown on the map?

(2)新课导入Part A Warming-up: Think and choose

1. 让学生以“小导游”的身份向大家介绍the Bell Tower钟楼,the Potala Palace布达拉宫,the Summer Palace颐和园,Mount Emei蛾眉山,the West Lake西湖等景点的地理位置、近期天气等相关信息,以及这些景点的相关知识(课件同步呈现图片,学生观赏)。

2. 其他学生和教师可以进行必要的补充。

3. 课件呈现更多名胜古迹的图片,并且用places of interest作为总标题,帮助学生读出并理解tower, palace, mount, lake等生词。

T: There are many places of interest in our country. Let’s enjoy them together. These places of interest are very famous in our country. Where are these places of interest? Can you find them on the map?

看图读一读这些名胜的名称,请学生们一起在地图上找出他们的位置。

T: Where would you like to go? Please talk about the places of interest in groups.

通过不断重复places of interest并请学生跟读,强调该短语的读音,为学习对话做铺垫。

4. 学生借助中闻地图,组内交流自己所向往景点的地理位置和应选择的交通工具等。

参考答案:从左到右依次为b, e, a, c, d

课程展示活动和过程 (presentation)

(1)新课展示Part A: Lets talk

1. 请学生说出各自在假期曾经去过的城市,课件展示中国地图,教师带领学生们进行“地图之旅”,结合学生的语用能力进行简中的交流,为后期的语言生成进行铺垫:

T: Where did you go last summer?

Ss: ...

T: Where is...?

Ss: It’s in the ... of China.

T: How did you get there?

Ss: By plane / train / ship / car / ...

T: What is the weather like there?

Ss: Its too hot / not too hot in summer.

T: Let’s try to find our capital city, Beijing. Where is Beijing? Can you find it on the map?

T/Ss: It’s in the north of China.

课件出示句子:Beijing is in the north of China.领读并检查个别学生的朗读情况,然后请基础较好的学生将句子抄写在黑板上。

T: How is the weather in Beijing in summer?

Ss: It’s not too hot.

T: Where is Shanghai? Can you find Shanghai on the map?

T/Ss: It’s in the southeast of China.

T: Its by the sea.(在地图上特别指出上海临海的地理位置) Its not too hot. There are many places of interest in Shanghai.

板书并领读places of interest,之后再举例帮助学生理解:

Oriental Pearl TV Tower (东方明珠塔) is a place of interest in Shanghai.

The Old City Gods Temple (老城隍庙) is another place of interest in Shanghai.

2. 展示Lets talk部分的教学挂图,介绍对话的背景及内容:

T: Who are in the picture?

Ss: David, Kitty and their mother.

T: That s right. David, Kitty and their mother are having a meeting. They are talking about their holiday. Lets watch the video.

教师提出问题,然后播放视频,让学生带着问题边听、边看、边思考。之后,通过学生的回答了解学生对对话的理解怡况,并进行评价。问题可参考如下:

(1) Where does David hope to go? Why?

(2) Where does Kitty want to go? Why?

(3) Where will they go?

(4) How will they go? Why?

3. 确定学生基本理解大意后,播放本部分的录音,让学生打开课本跟读对话,并在原文中画出上述问题的答案进行核对。

4. 处理疑难点。

(1) 教师通过课件播放视频,辅以肢体语言帮助学生理解come on的意思。

come on 的意义非常广泛,口语里经常使用,但它在不同的情景中却有着不同的意义。
1. 表不请求、鼓励、劝说等,意为“来吧。”
如:Come on. Dont be shy.来吧,别不好意思。
2. 用来催促别人,意为“快点。”
如:Come on. Well be late for school.快点,我们上学快迟到了。

方位名词west  east   south  north southeast westeast  northwest  southwest巩固活动

1. 教师播放Lets talk部分的录音,要求学生模仿其语音语调指读对话。

2. 采用学生领读、组内分角色朗读等方式,帮助学生熟读和熟知对话。
